Picasso at the Lapin Agile

Vernon Carroll (Director) is a Founding Member and President Emeritus of Laredo Theater Guild International. He started his theater career decades ago at Southwest Texas State University and hasn’t given up the game yet, with more than three hundred various show credits (the actual number is more than that, but no one is really keeping score anymore). He is proud to be one-half of the creative team, Pancho and Lefty, and thanks to all who lent their talents (onstage and off) to this show; it is a journey not to be forgotten!

Henry Mejia (Producer) is a board member and past president of LTGI. He is a local business owner, land surveyor, deacon in the Catholic church, and he really enjoys traveling and long walks. He has enjoyed being the right-handed part of team Pancho and Lefty, those guys have been doing stuff together for the last 18 years. Thank you, Lefty! Henry has graced the stage on rare occasions and specializes in behind-the-scenes kind of stuff. The cast and production team for Picasso at the Lapin Agile has been a joy to work with, always on task, and willing to help and teach a person a new thing. This truly has been about the journey.

Victor Serna (Freddy) is the broker and owner of The One Real Estate Brokerage in Laredo. He’s passionate about his family, physical training, and self-improvement. He’s not a stranger to the arts, having performed in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (LITE Productions), Cabaret (LITE Productions), Talk Radio (LLT), Willy Wonka Jr. (LLT) and Let the Right One In (LLT). This will be his first production with
LTGI. Victor looks forward to growing in theatre and is eternally grateful to his family who has supported him from the beginning.

John Maxstadt (Gaston) is a familiar figure in Laredo theatre, having played roles in LTGI, LLT, LITE, LC, and TAMIU productions over the past twenty-nine years, including Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof (LC), Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast (LTGI), Max Bialystock in The Producers (LC), and Polonius in Hamlet (LTGI). Most recently, he played Peter in Company (LC) and Press in Zoot Suit (LTGI). John
is a retired librarian and serves as Parliamentarian on the LTGI Board of Directors.

Stephanie Solis Schnyder (Germaine) is a veteran in Laredo’s theatre community as an actor and producer with LTGI, Laredo Little Theater, and Laredo College. Stephanie’s most notable performances include the roles of Dolores Reyna in Zoot Suit, Gertrude in Hamlet, Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie, Camila Rosario in In the Heights, and Edith Frank in The Diary Of Anne Frank with LTGI, Claire Ganz in Rumors with LLT, and Marty in Grease with LC. She
is Choir and One Act Play UIL Director at Lamar Middle School. Some of her other production credits include Stage Manager for A Midsummer Night’s Dream (LTGI) and Costumer in Matlida (LTGI). Stephanie is extremely excited to be part of this hilarious comedy. Enjoy the show!

Alejandro Escobedo Jr. (Albert Einstein) began his acting career at LBJ High School where he performed in theatre projects such as 21 Chump Street. He’s no stranger to the stage or LTGI as he’s worked on productions such as The House on Mango Street and Zoot Suit. His production experience has led him to voice-acting for commercials for companies such as Joe Brand and Defect Productions.

Allyson Tellez (Suzanne) is grateful to be on the LTGI stage again. She was most recently seen as Eli in Laredo Little Theater’s production of Let the Right One In and as Alice Bloomfield in LTGI’s Class on Stage® production of Zoot Suit. She was also in LTGI’s productions of Hand to God (Jessica), Frankenstein (Agatha), and Into the Woods. She has crewed for multiple LTGI productions such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Little Mermaid, and Matilda.

JoseAFlores(Sagot) iscurrentlyaTheaterArtsteacher at the Vidal M.Treviño School of Communication and Fine Arts (VMT). He’s a big believer in LTGI and its place in our community. He directed LGTI’s Class on Stage® production of Zoot Suit in October with many of the talent seen onstage in Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Once he learned
that they would be cast in this play, he couldn’t say no to the role of Sagot. He’s lucky to be a castmate and have fun onstage with people he loves, with a company he loves. Recent LTGI acting credits include DeLacey in Frankenstein, Mr. Saunders in Lend Me A Tenor, and the Gravedigger in Hamlet. Prior LTGI directing credits include Man of La Mancha, Bodas De Sangre, The Who’s Tommy, The House on Mango Street, and Into the Woods.

Ben Hinojosa (Pablo Picasso) recently appeared onstage as George Shearer in LTGI’s recent Class on Stage® production of Zoot Suit. Previous productions include Laredo College’s production of 9 to 5, Laredo Little Theater’s productions of A Tuna Christmas, Murder on the Orient Express, Dangerous Liaisons, and Woodlawn Theater’s productions of American Idiot and West Side
Story in San Antonio. He thanks his family for their undying support and the city of Laredo for coming out and supporting the arts! Enjoy the show

Raul Ramos (Charles Dabernow Schmendiman)
has appeared in four shows with LTGI, most recently as Scuttle in The Little Mermaid, Jason in Hand to God, and Ensemble in Matilda. Raul is a senior at TAMIU majoring in communications, focusing on media production with a minor in political science. He would like to thank his friends
and family for supporting his artistic pursuits.

LuciaSantaAnna(TheCountess) isexcitedtoparticipate for the first time in a big production like Zoot Suit (LTGI). Besides theater, her interests include writing, dancing, and baking. Lucia is thankful for the opportunity to be have been able to learn and tell the history behind the Zoot Suit riots.

Victoria Hernandez (A Female Admirer) has been in two plays, I Can’t Believe It Was Just Butter performed at Texas A&M International University and Saviors at the VMT. This is the first time she’s performing at the LTGI, and she’s very excited to be working with the cast and crew! In her free time, you can find her drawing, watching movies, and spending
time with friends. Endless love and gratitude to the entire cast and crew!

Benjamin Lule (A Visitor) participated in LTGI’s recent production Zoot Suit in 2024. This will be his second show outside of high school and his second with LTGI. While at United High School, he took part in the production, Things I Know To Be True (2022) in the role of Mark/Mia. Benjamin is a student at TAMIU and is going for his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He is excited to be back on stage and is hoping
for more great things to come.
