The Last Five Years

Chayo Moreno (Director) is thrilled to be returning to LTGI. Most recently, she served as Props Mistress for LTGI’s production of Sense and Sensibility. Her previous credits include Fool for Love (Props Mistress), Zoot Suit (Props Mistress), Matilda (Stage Manager), Into the Woods (Props Mistress), Anna in the Tropics (Stage Manager), Lend Me a Tenor (Assistant Director/Stage Manager), Mary Poppins (Stage Manager), and In the Heights (Assistant Stage Manager). Outside of the theatre, Chayo works as an Educational Diagnostician with the
Laredo ISD Special Education Department. She is deeply grateful to her family and friends for their unwavering encouragement and support

Susie A. Laurel (Producer) has been blessed to be a Professional Communications and Theatre Arts teacher at United High School for the last 20+ years. She enjoys being a UIL coach for Prose & Poetry and Ready Writing. She is extremely proud to have joined Laredo Theater Guild International in 2014 and is grateful to her LTGI family for allowing her to be a part of this wonderful artistic community as a board member. Susie would like to thank her family, friends, and especially her daughter, Leila Leigh, for always being so supportive.

Fernando Flores (Assistant Director / Stage Manager) This is Fernando’s Stage Manager debut for LTGI, previously having done acting roles for LTGI, such as Mr. Williams in 2025’s School of Rock and Ensemble in 2024’s Matilda. He is extremely excited and grateful for this opportunity and production experience. Fernando is currently a graduate student within the Master of Arts in English program at Texas A&M International University. Fernando would like to deeply thank his family, friends, and LTGI for the unwavering support and love they have given him throughout the years!

Lauresther Medina-Jimenez (Costumer) As a graduate from the University of Texas, with an emphasis on Costume Design and Technology, theater has been a big part of their life, and loves to draw and create fantastical designs, so this show has been quite the feat to capture contemporary people living in their day to day. Has worked on Matilda!, and Picasso at the Lapin Agile with LTGI. With previous works while studying being Address! The Body, Paper Fangs: A Stop Motion Film, and Ride the Cyclone!

Paulina De Leon (Vocal Director) graduated from Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) with a Bachelor’s in Music Education. She currently works at Honore Ligarde Elementary as a Music Teacher. This is De Leon’s first time working for Laredo Theater Guild as a vocal coach. So, she is super excited for the growth and experience this opportunity has to offer. De Leon’s future goals are to become a choral director or an assistant choral director for a middle school or high school level.

Dr. Colin Campbell (Music Director) is Associate Professor of Music/University Organist at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas. He is active as a concert organist, collaborative pianist, and chamber musician. Prior to relocating to the U.S.A. in 2013, he lectured music theory and music technology at the North West University, and organ at the Nelson Mandela University in South Africa. Holding a M.Mus. degree (cum laude) from the University of Port Elizabeth and a Ph.D. from the North-West University (Potchefstroom), he continued his studies in organ improvisation, interpretation, and music technology at the Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands. His composition, Rapsodía del Rio Grande is the centerpiece of a documentary program, Rhapsody on the Rio Grande: A Confluence of Culture, which was awarded with a Texas Emmy Award in 2017. This composition was commissioned to include Mariachi, Organ, and Orchestra. Dr. Campbell returns to this LTGI production as rehearsal pianist and music director after a highly successful run of Mary Poppins in the summer of 2019. He has done the music direction for musical theater productions in South Africa for Gigi, The Sound of Music, and Fiddler on the Roof, and has more than twenty years’ experience as a pit musician.

Robert M. Lopez (Sound Engineer) recently retired after a 34-year-long career in music education. He continues to be musically active throughout the region as a consultant and professional/studio musician. He has served as music director for Laredo Theatre Guild International’s productions of Hairspray, Shrek, Tommy, Beauty and the Beast, In The Heights, The Little Mermaid, Matilda, Zoot Suit, and The School of Rock; and as sound engineer for numerous productions.

Lucia Santa Anna (Props Mistress) is excited to participate once again as part of the production team; this time assisting in the props department. She has been involved in theater since 2024 as an actress, crew, light-board operator and now as part of props. She is looking forward to experience a new side of theater. Lucia is thankful for all the love and support from her family and friends.

Héctor Cardona (Props Master) is coming back to theater for a second time as part of the props team. Artistically inclined and naturally creative, Héctor brings a keen eye for detail and a hands-on approach to every task. He is excited to work as props master and is ready to take on the responsibilities brought by the title. Héctor looks forward to supporting the production with dedication, profes- sionalism, and a fresh perspective as an architect.

Sidney Ledezcma (Light Board Operator/ Intern) is a senior at Texas A&M International University who majors in Communication with a concentra- tion in media production and a minor in theater and film studies. Currently, Sidney is an intern at LTGI who takes photos and videos for LTGI’s social media. The Last Five Years is Sidney’s first theater production, which she is extremely excited to be a part of. Sidney would like to extend a big thank you to LTGI for providing her with the opportunity to intern this Spring!

Christine Vasquez (Lighting Design) is a senior at J.W.Nixon High School and Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts. Her jour- ney through the world of theater has granted her multiple amazing op- portunities to broaden her skills. A few of her credits include Frankenstein (LTGI), School of Rock (LTGI), Nixon OAP Yerma, Electricidad, and VMT Fringe Festival production Lord of the Flies. In the fall Christine plans to attend Texas State University where she will continue her studies of technical theater. Christine thanks her family and friends for their unwavering support, as well as the producers, directors, and teachers who have mentored and inspired her throughout her theatrical journey.

Lisa Veronica Martinez (Catherine Hiatt) has been part of the LTGI family since 2009, contributing both onstage and behind the scenes. After several years performing and teaching in Austin, she returned home to pursue her BFA in Psychology at Texas A&M International University. Recent credits include Sense & Sensibility, School of Rock, and Ride the Cyclone. Catherine Hiatt has been one
of her most challenging roles yet, and she is endlessly grateful to director Chayo Moreno for her trust, guidance, and constant encouragement to grow. She also deeply appreciates her family, friends, and partner for their patience and unwavering support throughout her journey.

Roland Vela (Jamie Wellerstein) is an LTGI board member and is very excited to be making his return to the stage after 7 years! Some of his previous credits with LTGI include: Beauty and The Beast (Ensemble), Mary Poppins (Valentine/Mr. Northbrook), The Little Mermaid (Choreographer), Matilda The Musical (Director). Playing Jamie Wellerstein is a dream role for Rolando and he
would like to thank his director for this opportunity as well as his sister and partner for their continued support!
