A Mexican-born, Texas-raised queer performer, poet, publisher, producer and community organizer. He is the founder of Laredo BorderSlam, a founding member of Write About Now, a 2 time San Antonio Slam Champion, and has won 2 National Poetry Slam titles. He has self-published 2 books, tours across the country performing his spoken word sets, and his work has appeared in print and online (Google him). His latest theatrical credits include the Into the Woods (Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince), The Sin Muros Latinx Theatre Festival, In The Heights (Usnavi), The Rocky Horror Show (Columbia), Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio), Bodas de Sangre (Leñador), The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged (Himself), Rent (Tom Collins), The Drowsy Chaperone (Man in Chair), and Beat: A Play on Words (Actor 5), which he also directed. In a professional sense, he is the Community Manager for Out in Tech and the Director of Virtual Programming and Editor in Chief at Write About Now Media.

A multi-disciplinary artist based in New York City. She was born and raised here in Laredo, where she graduated from J.W. Nixon High School and Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts. Last Spring, Kahn graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Theater. She has trained at Playwrights Horizons Theater School, The Lee Strasberg Film & Theater Institute, Stonestreet Studios, and Tisch’s Stanislavsky, Brecht and Beyond program in Berlin, Germany. She has performed at The TANK NYC, Playwrights Downtown, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Some of her favorite Laredo performances include In The Heights, Yerma, Mother Courage & Her Children, and Hamlet. She is honored to be in this monumental production as a pansexual member of the LGBTQ+ community. She hopes that Hedwig will spark more queer art in the community she holds dear to her heart. Jose is an aspiring Singer/Songwriter, pianist and guitarist, as well as a ballet dancer with the Laredo School of Contemporary Dance under the direction of Jessica Zamarripa. When he’s not on stage or in front of a camera singing, you may find him in his day job at Casa Yoga where he manages an amazing team and is a fitness fusion barre instructor.Jose would like to thank you for being a part of the beauty that is Laredo Theater Guild International.

An aspiring musical theatre actress who is excited to be returning to the LTGI stage. Classically trained, she has performed roles in various works of William Shakespeare, One-Act plays, and operas with the Kingsville and Laredo College Opera Workshops. She attended Texas A&M University Kingsville where she studied Vocal Performance with a focus in Musical Theatre. She has worked with some of the finest Broadway professionals, including her biggest role model and cheerleader Lindsay Heather Pearce who just concluded her contract as Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway and is currently touring in Mean Girls. Smith subscribes to the belief that anything is possible if you set your heart to it and work as if nothing else matters. She wants to thank her friends, family, LC cast and Jack for their continued support.

is a music educator and freelance musician who started learning guitar at the age of 13. He holds degrees in Classical Guitar Performance from Laredo College and The University of Texas at San Antonio. His experience includes performing internationally in several classical guitar and theater festivals. He worked as an arranger, performer and composer for theater in the early 2010’s, and most recently performing in Cyrano de Bergerac with Laredo College’s Opera Workshop. Ariel currently teaches at Guitar Center and aspires to work with Cirque du Soleil one day.

is a freelance musician, bassist, and music educator. Juan started playing at the age of 11 and later pursued a career in music at Laredo College and Berklee College of Music in Boston. Juan has extensive experience playing in the local scene and internationally.

is a self-taught musician from Laredo, Texas. He has been playing drums for over 12 years, along with guitar and bass. He previously played drums for LTGI’s production of In The Heights.

Artistic Director of Laredo Theater Guild International and Audio/Video Production Teacher at the Vidal M. Treviño School of Communications and Fine Arts. He is a graduate of The University Of Texas At Austin with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Radio/TV/Film. His theater directing credits for LTGI include Borders (2021), In the Heights (2018), Yerma (2018), The Diary of Anne Frank (2015), The 39 Steps (2014), Romeo & Juliet (2013) and Imago Theatre’s By The Bog Of Cats (2011). When not involved in community-based theater, Marco is the co-director of Nixon High School’s UIL One-Act Play with Jose Flores. During his time at Nixon, their program has garnered two State appearances for their productions of Mother Courage and Her Children (2017) and Twelfth Night (2014). Both productions received the State Best Actress prize. In August of 2017, the troupe traveled to Scotland where they were invited to perform Federico García Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba at The 70th Annual Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the world’s largest arts festival. Marco’s notable forays into film include 1st Assistant Directing for The Son Who Can’t Play Trumpet (dir: Isaac Garza). Marco’s recent acting credits include Lend Me a Tenor (Max), Wit (Jason) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Quince).

Dr. Oliveira is a private practice Audiologist and currently serves as corresponding secretary for LTGI. She is a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and serves as a member of The Texas Exes – Laredo Chapter. Her LTGI credits span over 14 years and include serving in various capacities in over twenty productions. She made her debut as producer in the hilarious comedy God of Carnage (2016). She is most proud of her work as Producer in LTGI’s first rock musical The Who’s Tommy (2016), the inspirational drama Yerma (2018) as well as the moving and colorful summer musical In The Heights (2018). She recently made her stage debut playing Sleeping Beauty in 2022’s Into The Woods. All her gratitude is given to the talented actors and production team for igniting creativity and self-expression in her daily life.

is the Director of Development & Marketing at the South Texas Food Bank in Laredo, Texas. You may recognize Allie from previous LTGI productions, having performed in Into the Woods (Cinderella), Lend Me a Tenor (Maggie), Blithe Spirit (Mrs. Bradford), In the Heights (Nina Rosario), Beauty and the Beast (Babette), Hairspray (Dynamite), Annie (Ronnie Boylan), and The Sound of Music (Louisa). She also produced the LTGI production of Wit, and assisted in producing The Who’s Tommy. Having a lifelong passion for the arts and our community, Allie serves on the Board of Directors for LTGI, the Laredo Cultural District, and The Boys & Girls Club of Laredo.

is proud to be working with Laredo Theater Guild International (LTGI) this winter season. Jessica’s acting debut was in 2013 at the Edinburgh, Scotland Fringe Festival where she played Miguel in Bocon. The following year she made it to the UIL One-Act State competition with J.W. Nixon’s Twelfth Night where she played Olivia. Jessica has also assistant directed Into the Woods Jr. and Aladdin Jr. for Break A Leg Productions and Laredo Little Theatre. Jessica previously starred in LTGI’s House on Mango Street as Esperanza and later worked on Blithe Spirit and Into the Woods as the stage manager. Jessica is excited to show the Laredo community this fun and exhilarating show. Lastly, she would like to thank her family and friends for their unconditional love and support.

is a proud member of the LTGI community. She holds a Masters degree in Theatre Arts at from Regent University and is, currently, the theatre arts/One-Act Director at United South High School. Her passion for theater started when she was cast in LCC’s production of High School Musical when she was 18. Since then, she has also participated as a cast member, props mistress, producer and costumer in multiple shows within the Laredo theatre community. She thanks God, her husband, family and kiddos for always inspiring and believing in her. Que viva el arte!

was born and raised in Laredo. She has a degree for something that she doesn’t even utilize from Texas A&M International University. This is because ever since the pandemic started, she rekindled her love for storytelling through art. In past productions she has helped backstage, making props, and even ended up on stage a few times. In this production she has helped style and create costumes in honor of late designer, Vivianne Westwood (all hail the queen of punk). She also built, together with her bestie Ricky, the giant TV you will hopefully be impressed with tonight! She’s grateful for the opportunity to be surrounded by other amazing local artists and friends in this production.

is a local artist and muralist who has been involved with the Loredo theater community in some capacity since he was a child. Most notably he served many seasons as actor and sometimes (once) director with Laredo Little Theatre and with Break A Leg Laredo as board member/PR Officer. These days his favorite pastimes include biting off more than he can chew and seeing how much art supplies he can fit in his car before it becomes a Michael’s. He has been a professional artist for the last few years producing murals and public artwork around the city of Laredo and is so exited to be able to make art collaboratively with a community that means so much to him. “Will paint for food”

José R. Villa is an educator and musician with extensive performance and teaching experience. José is a skilled professional with a successful career in music, business, education, and youth development. A graduate from Berklee College of music in Boston, MA, José has now returned to the community of Laredo and has created initiatives that support underserved youth through music education and the arts. He has traveled through the US and Mexico with performances, masterclasses, and educational clinics. José also runs his private teaching studio “Music Lessons by José Villa.” His recent LTGI credits include The Who’s Tommy, Beauty And The Beast, and In The Heights. Jose’s mission is to transform and empower as many lives as possible through education, music, and the arts.

is the director of choral studies at the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts in Laredo, Texas. As an educator, Ms. Hernandez studied both music education and vocal pedagogy at the University of Texas at San Antonio, focusing on vocal technique. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from UTSA and a Masters of Music Education from Boston University. Her vocal direction credits range from children’s shows to adult productions, including “In the Heights” and “The Who’s Tommy,” both produced by Laredo Theater Guild International, “The Lion King Jr.” (produced by Laredo Institute for Theatrical Education), and “Little Shop of Horrors” (VMT). Her stage experience includes performances with LTGI, LITE Productions, and Laredo College Opera Workshop, appearing in such roles as Mama Morton (Chicago), Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), and Mrs. Van Daan (Diary of Anne Frank). Most recently, Celia was seen on stage as The Witch in the LTGI production of Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods”. In January of 2019, she taught a master class in musical theater for Waldo Gonzalez’s School for the Performing Arts in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Celia is proud to be a part of this unique and history-making work of art.

Susie A. Laurel (Wig Mistress) has been blessed to be an English teacher at United High School for the last 18 years. She enjoys being a UIL coach for Prose & Poetry and Ready Writing. She is extremely proud to be a member of Laredo Theater Guild International and is grateful to her LTGI family for allowing her to be a part of this wonderful artistic community.
